Claims People: Crawford & Co., Tenco Services, Hunton Andrews Kurth
Crawford & Co has appointed Janis Hagenbucher as managing director for Crawford Forensic Accounting Services.
Hagenbucher reports to Paul Kottler, president of Crawford Global Technical Services.
In this new role, Hagenbucher will support the overall development and growth of the division, focusing on technology and innovation that will manage large and complex claims.
Hagenbucher has more than 35 years of domestic and international industry experience involving casualty and property policies, including business interruption, cyber, event cancellation and financial condition analysis.
Previously, she was senior vice president at Lowers Forensics International and Lowers Risk Group. She was also a senior partner at Matson Driscoll and Damico and held leadership roles at LBC International LLP, CNH Associations LLP, Hagenbucher & Associates PC, Kriegstein, Kim, Wright & Hagenbucher and Wright & Hagenbucher.
Hagenbucher is a licensed certified public accountant in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She received a bachelor’s in science in accounting from Drexel University.
Tenco Services Inc., an independent property and casualty claims adjusting company based in Nashville, Tennessee, has promoted Brian Duncan to president of the firm, effective Monday.
Duncan previously served as senior vice president. He reports to Chief Executive Officer Tom Moss.
“Brian Duncan has been serving our clients, our employees and our company for 25 years with steadfast excellence,” Moss said in a press release. “He will continue to lead us with teams who know and address our claims service priorities and daily business challenges.”
Moss, who has been with Tenco for 40 years, will remain as CEO and “plans to remain moderately involved in operations,” the firm said.
Moss’ late father, Joe P. Moss, founded The Tennessee Company, parent of Tenco Services, Inc., in 1947. Tom Moss’ daughter, Vice President Maggie Hufstedler, continues in the firm as one of the team leaders in administration and account acquisition and management.
Tenco has staffed offices in Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia with employees and associates handling property and casualty claim assignments throughout the Southeast, regularly including Ohio, Indiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and North and South Carolina. Its third-party claims administration division, Sextant Claims Administrators, handles transportation, cargo and property loss assignments throughout the United States on behalf of domestic and foreign underwriters.
The Hunton Andrews Kurth law firm in Washington D.C. has added attorney Koorosh Talieh, a specialist in complex commercial insurance disputes, to its insurance coverage practice.
Talieh was formerly a partner with Perkins Coie. He represents corporate policyholders seeking to enforce insurance coverage for products, advertising injury, defamation, environmental, construction, directors and officers, employment, antitrust, fiduciary, securities, errors and omissions, and intellectual property liabilities, and a wide array of first-party property and business interruption losses, the firm said in a press release.
Hunton Andrews Kurth said its insurance coverage practice has grown by seven attorneys over the past year.
Talieh is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. He is a fellow and membership committee co-chair of the American College of Coverage Counsel.
