Higginbotham & Assoc. Creates Specialty Transportation Unit
Fort Worth-based Higginbotham & Associates announced the formation of a dedicated Transportation Division, naming insurance executive Bill Spain managing director of the unit. Spain will continue to build the property and casualty business within the firm’s Dallas office, as well as apply his 12 years of expertise in the trucking and transportation industry to the newly established division.
“Clearly the transportation industry is unique in a number of ways. A cookie cutter approach to insurance coverage won’t work,” Spain said. “We partner with our transportation clients to provide a unique blend of risk analysis, loss control and claims management-as well as ongoing safety enhancement programs-to ensure they are in the best position possible when a carrier looks to price coverage for the business.
“We recognize that there are a number of industries that require very specialized insurance expertise,” said J. Russell “Rusty” Reid, president and CEO of Higginbotham. “Transportation is one such industry. We’ve committed people and resources to ensure we have the sound insurance carrier relationships and the strong risk management experience necessary to understand and properly advise companies in the transportation industry.”
Insurance coverages offered through Higginbotham & Associates’ Transportation Division include liability, physical damage, cargo, inland marine and many other specialized transportation coverages, as well as traditional property/casualty and employee benefits.
