Commissioner Announces Ark. Insurance Day
Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Julie Benafield Bowman announced that the state’s Fifth Annual Insurance Day will take place Sept. 28-29, 2005.
The commissioner said Arkansas Insurance Day is designed to expose college students to the benefits of the insurance industry, with the goal of encouraging these young people to consider this industry as a viable career option. Insurance Day also provides a wonderful opportunity for industry officials, producers, and other professionals to come together and discuss significant issues taking place in the marketplace, the commissioner said.
Day one will begin with a golf tournament, followed by dinner. Chief Richard Picciotto of the New York Fire Department, who was in the North Tower when it collapsed on Sept. 11, 2001, will be the featured dinner speaker.
Day two will consist of a number of programs, including the Commissioners’ Forum, where Mississippi Commissioner George Dale, Tennessee Commissioner Paula Flowers, and Oklahoma Commissioner Kim Holland will be guests.
Other industry leaders will educate and motivate attendees on topics relative to the future of the insurance industry, including identity theft, producer compensation and other timely issues.
Insurance Day 2005 is hosted by the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) and the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). All events will be held at the beautiful Chenal County Club in Little Rock.
Four (4) hours of continuing education credit will be available for participation in the program slated for Sept. 29.
