IIAT Ready to Help Agents Impacted by Hurricane Rita
IIAT is ready to assist its members following the damage caused by Hurricane Rita. The association announced it is taking the following steps as part of its assistance plan:
1. Beginning Monday, Sept. 26, IIAT will have a team on the ground in the affected areas delivering supplies and helping members restore agency operations.
This field team can be reached by satellite phones beginning Sept. 26. Please call only if you have information that will assist them in serving agents in the affected areas.

–Paul Martin: (254) 460-0732
–Rick Bondurant: (254) 460-0733

2. Beginning this weekend, IIAT will attempt to contact all members in the catastrophe areas to determine their safety and establish their needs. The association has posted much information on its Web site for agents and sent communications to members both soliciting and offering assistance.
3. IIAT is creating a public page online at www.iiat.org listing emergency contact information for displaced agents.
4. It will advertise on radio in the affected areas, directing people to this site if they are trying to find an independent agent. The industry’s help would be appreciated. If your claims people find agents who are operating from a location different than their usual address, keep IIAT informed so it can post this information. IIAT is also happy to post on this site any company communications necessary to advise agents about your process and locations.
All communications regarding the IIAT Web site should go to Bill Roof at IIAT: roofwr@iiat.org.
