Hertz Doubles Size of Gulf Coast Fleet; More Vehicles on the Way
Hertz Corporation announced that it has doubled the size of its Gulf Coast fleet, with the addition of thousands of vehicles, to assist all customers, but especially individuals needing cars because their cars have been damaged or lost due to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and the many relief workers, medical and government personnel who have come to the Gulf Coast to help get the region back on its feet.
And, with several thousand more cars are on the way, the company does not have a waiting list and has been able to fulfill its reservations.
“As flights are restored to Gulf Coast airports and residents move back into their homes, Hertz is increasing the size of its rental fleet in the region and we have cars available to rent at all re-opened locations,” comments Hertz Region Vice President Teresa Fox. “We have an on-going process to move available fleet into the area and, by doubling the size of our rental fleet, we’re able to continue to assist in the relief efforts after the recent hurricanes. Soon, we will have increased the Gulf Coast fleet by more than 7000 vehicles, and we are prepared to add more cars as necessary.”
Hertz said it has a long-standing commitment to the insurance replacement industry, servicing insurance companies and their customers for approximately 10 years. With its national network of Off-Airport locations, Hertz is an authorized car rental and insurance replacement provider for many major automobile insurance companies. In addition to providing pick-up and return service, Hertz’ Off-Airport locations offer affordable replacement rates, direct billing to insurance companies and dealerships, unlimited mileage, cars that are, on average, less than a year old and one-way rentals.
