HDR Rolls out New Service for Texas Auto Insurance Verification
Friendswood, Texas-based HDR announce the release of an inline XML service for checking Texas records by VIN, license plate or driver’s license. IThe company said the new product enables adding vehicle registration data and/or driver’s license data instantly and seamlessly to insurer point-of-sale systems or any other data processing programs that store driver or vehicle information.
The service uses HDR’s level one VIN finder system so if the input VIN does not match the state VIN it will usually find the correct VIN, which may be critical for the upcoming Texas Financial Responsibility Verification program. In many instances this eliminates the issue where the insurer’s VIN does not match the “state” VIN and may assist the insurer in compliance with possible future rules related to the implementation of SB 1670, the Personal Auto Financial Responsibility Program.
The Texas Department of Insurance recently adopted a new rule, Division 7, ยงยง5.601 – 5.611, concerning the Financial Responsibility Verification Program to verify coverage under the Texas Motor Vehicle Safety Responsibility Act as required by SB 1670, 79th Legislature, Regular Session. The rule is expected to go into effect Dec. 5.
