Ark. Firm Recalling More than 4,000 Pounds of Beef
The U.S. Department of Agriculture said Monday that a Batesville, Ark., firm is voluntarily recalling more than 4,000 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with the E. coli bacteria.
The Natural State Meat Co. said it is recalling products including one to 25-pound bags labeled “Meacham Packing Company hamburger,” and one to 10-pound bags labeled “Meacham Packing Company, beef ground chuck.”
The USDA said a routine microbiologic check of the beef found the possible contamination.
The recalled beef was produced between Jan. 19 and 26 and was distributed to retail stores in Independence County. The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service said they had received no reports of illnesses associated with the beef.
