New Orleans-area Agent Shut Down by Regulators
A New Orleans/Metairie, La., insurance agent was issued a cease and desist order and summary suspension of her license by the Louisiana Department of Insurance for alleged misappropriation of insurance funds.
Quiana Natosha Jones was served by the department’s Fraud Section Investigators with the papers suspending her right to engage in the business of insurance. The suspension was effective immediately.
The action stemmed from a review of customer payment account transactions which revealed two instances in which, allegedly, Jones illegally and without authorization applied funds meant for two customer policies to her own personal insurance policy.
Jones held a license to sell life/annuity insurance from July 2003 until the current action.
