Recall Alert Issued for Sara Lee Fresh Bread Products
Sara Lee Food and Beverage issued a voluntarily and precautionary recall of selected whole wheat bread products produced at the company’s Meridian, Miss. bakery and sold in Miss., Ala., and parts of Ark., Mo., Ga., Tenn., La. and Fla.
The affected products may contain small pieces of metal and are stamped “best if purchased by” July 25, 2007 through August 7, 2007 and include the code “222.” This information can be found on the front of the bag. The products were sold in a variety of retail grocery and mass-merchant retailers.
The products are being removed from store shelves, but some may remain in consumer possession. All retail and institutional foodservice customers have been notified, and arrangements for product retrieval have been made.
