Bossier City, La., Businessman Accused of Insurance Fraud
A Bossier City, La., businessman recently was booked on two counts of insurance fraud and other charges for allegedly hiding thousands of dollars worth of equipment so he could make an insurance claim.
John W. Dilts, 29, also faces two counts of inciting a felony, and one count of criminal mischief, according to a state police investigation.
Dilts is listed as a director with Metroplex Contracting Inc., a construction company in Bossier City, according to the Secretary of State’s corporations database.
The investigation started in November when Bossier City police say he filed a theft report alleging someone stole his business’ equipment, including a Caterpillar Trackhoe, a pickup truck and other equipment and tools.
Dilts was arrested Feb. 29 and released later that day on a $16,000 bond, according to Bossier sheriff’s spokesman Ed Baswell.
