La. Suspends License, Fines Agent Accused of Pocketing Premiums
Jennifer Mason Hudspeth, a Lacombe, La., area insurance agent facing charges that she misappropriated insurance premiums has been served with a cease and desist order, summary suspension and a $5,000 fine notice for allegedly accepting more than $2,800 in cash payments for insurance policies and using the funds herself.
Hudspeth was arrested on these charges by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office in December 2007. The Louisiana Department of Insurance served Hudspeth with the C&D order and fine on May 2.
Department records show that Hudspeth held a property and casualty license and a vehicle property damage license from August 2002 until the current action. She was also issued an accident and health license and a life license in September 2002, both which expired April 30, 2008.
