Small Earthquake Hits Central Arkansas
The U.S. Geological Survey says a small earthquake occurred Nov. 22 in central Arkansas just before 6:30 p.m.
The USGS says the quake, which hit about six miles northeast of Hot Springs Village, had a preliminary magnitude of 2.3.
Dispatchers in Garland County say they had received no calls about the earthquake.
A quake of magnitude 2.5 to 3 is the smallest generally felt by people. Hundreds of earthquakes occur each year. Most are so small they cannot be felt.
Hot Springs Village is 37 miles west of Little Rock.
