Another Small Earthquake Recorded Near Jones, Oklahoma
The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded another small earthquake near Jones in central Oklahoma.
No injuries or damage have been reported.
The magnitude 2.8 quake was recorded at 11:16 p.m. Jan. 10 about 15 miles northeast of Oklahoma City. It’s at least the 26th earthquake in the area since last March.
Geologists say the area typically gets one or two earthquakes per year that are felt and they’re not sure what has caused the increase.
Quakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3 are generally the smallest felt by people.
