3 Arkansas Flood Control Projects to Get Funding
Three flood control projects in Arkansas are among projects in five states that will share $9.4 million in federal funding.
U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced the funding as part of the federal stimulus program.
Arkansas will receive a total of $418,000. The Ozan Creek Site 11 in Hempstead County will get $145,000, the Poteau River Site 4 in Scott County gets $162,500 and South Fourche Site 1 in Perry County will receive $110,000.
Vilsack says the money is for remedial repairs where there is a risk of infrastructure failure that would threaten life and property.
The other states sharing the funding are Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Kentucky.
