Man Burned in Texas IRS Attack Sues Pilot’s Estate
A Texas state worker injured when a man angry with the Internal Revenue Service crashed his plane into an Austin building in February is suing the dead pilot’s estate.
State comptroller’s office investigator Shane Hill suffered second degree burns over 25 percent of his body Feb. 18 when Joseph Stack III flew his plane into a building housing IRS offices.
Hill’s lawyer says the lawsuit doesn’t blame Stack’s widow, Sheryl Stack, but attempts to collect damages from insurance policies that her husband may have had.
The widow of Vernon Hunter, an IRS worker killed in the crash, has sued Sheryl Stack personally, alleging that she should have warned others about her husband.
