Small Quake Detected in Oklahoma
An earthquake struck eastern Oklahoma County on May 7.
The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed that a 3.1-magnitude quake occurred about 11 miles northeast of Midwest City, Okla., about 7:44 a.m.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
Central Oklahoma has seen several earthquakes in recent months, the strongest of which was a 4.1-magnitude tremor near Sparks on Feb. 27.
Researchers say quakes of 2.5 to 3.0 magnitude are typically the smallest felt by humans.
