Emergency Adjusters Allowed in Oklahoma After Storms
Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Kim Holland has issued an emergency order following severe storms that hit the state on May 10 and 11.
The order allows the Oklahoma Department of Insurance to issue licenses to emergency claims adjusters to adjust claims resulting from the storms.
Tornado producing storms hit the state May 10 killing five people and causing significant property damage.
Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson also announced that the state’s price gouging statute is now in effect as a result of the storms.
As of 11:30 a.m. May 13, the National Weather Services had issued severe storm warnings for several Oklahoma counties, noting that quarter sized-hail was possible.
