Arkansas Truck/Train Collision Leaves 1 Dead
The driver of a dump truck died after his vehicle collided with a train in southwest Jonesboro, Ark.
Arkansas State Police say the accident happened about 7 p.m. on June 1 at the intersection of State Highways 349 and 226.
Authorities say Shawn Watson of Jonesboro was driving eastbound on Highway 226 and pulled into the path of the southbound train. Two of the train’s engines and four of its cars derailed.
Watson died at the scene. The train’s conductor also was injured and taken to a hospital.
