Louisiana Hires Independent Administrator to Review Oil Spill Claims
Louisiana has hired an independent administrator to perform a comprehensive review of BP’s oil spill claims process.
As the third party administrator, Cannon Cochran Management Services Inc., will also look at the effect of social, human, and workforce development services on the process and provide technical support and consulting for negotiations for claims information, reviewing the claims process and assisting in the development of requests.
Kristy Nichols, secretary of the state Department of Social Services, says the move assures integrity and quality in the claims process.
CCMSI is a privately held company and a third-party administrator for property/casualty self-insurance and workers’ compensation programs.
