Man Pleads Guilty to 2 Pope County, Ark., Church Arsons

A man charged with setting fire to two churches in Pope County, Ark., has pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

A judge also ordered 56-year-old Steven M. Kelterborn to pay $215,000 in restitution.

Officials say Kelterborn set fire to the two churches on May 22 before being caught that night while parked in front of another church. The Courier newspaper in Russellville reports Kelterborn was wearing only soot-stained shorts and sandals when he was arrested. Deputies found a box of matches and two cans of paint thinner in the car.
