Apartment Fire Displaces 40 in Louisiana
Baton Rouge, La., firefighters are investigating the cause of an apartment complex fire that left about 40 people homeless.
The fire department said in a news release sent to The Advocate that the fire caused damages totaling $2 million at the Oak Village Apartments Monday night.
The release says the fire is believed to have started in an upstairs apartment that was being used for storage.
Firefighters say one person was injured and treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
According to the release, 37 apartment units were destroyed by the fire.
