2 Small Earthquakes Recorded in Central Arkansas
The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded two small earthquakes near Greenbrier in central Arkansas.
The U.S.G.S. reports a quake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.6 was recorded at 3:53 a.m. on Feb. 16 about three miles northeast of Greenbrier and about 35 miles north of Little Rock. The quake comes after a preliminary magnitude 2.7 earthquake recorded in the same area at 3:35 p.m. on Feb. 15.
No injuries or damage is reported as a result of either quake.
Geologists say quakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest felt by humans.
