Fire Destroys Historic Buildings in Oklahoma Town
Two historic hotel buildings in downtown Seminole have been destroyed by fire.
Seminole emergency manager Ernest Willis says a blaze began about 11:15 p.m. Saturday in the Grisso building and then spread to the Worth building next door.
Fire Chief Bryant Baker says the Grisso building was a loss, and only the first floor of the Worth building was saved.
Willis says the Grisso building was mostly empty and unused, but an engineering office and law office were located on the first floor of the Worth building.
Baker says the Grisso building had a marker on the front saying it was finished in 1929, and the Worth building was also likely about that old.
He says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
