Worker Killed at Texas Poultry Plant
A night shift supervisor at a northeast Texas poultry plant is dead after he became pinned under the wheels of a truck backing into a loading dock.
Federal workplace safety inspectors are investigating the death of Jimmy Bynum of injuries from the accident at the Pilgrim’s Pride protein conversion plant in Mount Pleasant.
Pilgrim’s Pride spokesman Gary Rhodes says Bynum was injured about 1 a.m. Wednesday and died later at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. Rhodes says Bynum had worked for Pilgrim’s Pride for 25 years.
