Worker Killed in Fire at Business in South Oklahoma
Authorities say a worker at Wilson Salt Water Disposal has died after being injured in a fire at the plant near Wilson.
Officials say 35-year-old Gary Cochran died of injuries suffered in the fire that was reported about 3 a.m. Saturday in a tank battery at the plant.
A tank battery is a group of containers that stores oil.
Carter County deputy sheriff Rick Batt said the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate the fire.
Batt said the cause of the fire has not been determined.
The plant is southeast of Wilson – which is about 20 miles west of Ardmore.
