Agency Awards $1.27M to Repair Arkansas Bridge
Arkansas’ southeastern-most county will receive a federal grant to rebuild a bridge that collapsed during massive flooding along the Mississippi River and its tributaries earlier this year.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced Monday that a $1.27 million grant had been awarded for the Macon Bayou Bridge in Chicot County.
Federal officials say the state’s plans for the $1.7 million project will be to return the bridge on Lewis Road to pre-disaster footprint and function.
