Oklahoma Insurance Department Spokesman Resigns Over Offensive Email
Glenn Craven says he’s resigned as the Oklahoma Insurance Department’s spokesman after sending an official email to hundreds of people containing an off-color term for breasts.
Insurance Commissioner John Doak announced Friday morning that an employee had resigned over the email, but did not name Craven. Craven told The Associated Press on Friday afternoon that he was the employee.
Craven said he was given the option of resigning or being fired.
He apologized repeatedly for the email that said an award to be given at a tornado preparedness meeting would go to “the girl with the biggest” breasts, using a slang term. He said he “channeled” an episode of the British television program Monty Python in which a similar phrase was used.
Doak didn’t immediately return a message seeking comment.
