Ex-NFL Players in Louisiana Can Sue League Over Concussions

Another group of former NFL players living in Louisiana is suing the league over allegations the NFL failed to protect players from the risks associated with concussions.

A federal suit filed Friday on behalf of seven former NFL players is at least the second case of its kind filed in New Orleans. The earlier suit and others blaming the NFL for concussion-related dementia and brain disease have been consolidated in Philadelphia.

The plaintiffs named in the new suit are: Michael Brooks, Harold Bishop, Ronnie Halliburton, Liffort Hobley, Justin Vincent, Corey Raymond and Shawn King. Plaintiffs’ attorney Derriel McCorvey said all of them played for LSU before reaching the NFL.

The NFL has vowed to vigorously defend itself against the suits.
