Street Racing in Texas Blamed for Death
San Antonio, Texas, police say street racing has led to the death of a driver whose truck went off a road, fell more than 40 feet and crashed into a creek.
The name of the man who died was not immediately released Thursday. Police are looking for the driver of a car involved in Wednesday night’s accident.
Sgt. Mark Hubbard says the two vehicles apparently were racing when they collided and the pickup driver lost control. That vehicle smashed through a bridge guardrail and tumbled into the creek. The victim was dead at the scene.
Hubbard says the driver who fled could face charges of racing and failure to stop and render aid. The car was found abandoned about a mile from the accident scene.
