Arkansas Firing Range Reopened After Repairs Made
A firing range near Paragould that was closed temporarily has reopened.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission announced Tuesday that the Jack Cox Scatter Creek Firing Range was closed while repairs and modifications were done in early June.
A new baffle was built to provide increased safety for the range and the old baffle renovated. Shooting ranges are equipped with baffles so that if a fired bullet leaves the range’s confines, it will fall within a smaller, more predictable area and protect people or property adjacent to the facility.
The range is located northwest of Paragould in Greene County. Any legal rifle or pistol and ammunition may be used on the firing range.
