Roof Caves in on Louisiana Nightclub
Firefighters say the roof of a Baton Rouge nightclub collapsed sometime early Sunday under the weight of a massive amount of collected rainwater. A club, located next door, was not damaged.
Fire department spokesman Robert Combs tells The Advocate firefighters were called at 9:27 a.m. Sunday about damage to Main Street nightclub. When firefighters arrived, Combs said they found the club heavily damaged with debris scattered onto the road.
Combs said investigators believe the drain on the roof was clogged, and after so much rainwater built up on the roof, it collapsed under the weight.
