Smoke Detectors Given Away to Louisiana Town’s Residents
The Minden Fire Department is marking fire prevention week by giving away smoke detectors to local residents.
Assistant Fire chief Tommy John Hughes tells the Minden Press-Herald the detectors were purchased using a $3,500 grant from Conoco Phillips.
The 350 detectors were earmarked for homeowners, not for landlords or renters, and must be installed by the homeowner.
