Arson Blamed for Fire at Arkansas Corrections Office
Authorities say a fire that burned at a Searcy, Ark., governmental building appears to be an act of arson.
Authorities responded to a fire around 5 a.m. Monday at Searcy’s Arkansas Department of Community Corrections office. The Daily Citizen reports that investigators discovered a broken window and a Molotov cocktail inside the building.
Searcy firefighters extinguished the blaze within 30 minutes. Authorities say no one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
Searcy police spokeswoman Brittany Eacret says authorities have no suspects. A $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction in the case.
