Texas Woman Killed by Runaway Vehicle at Car Wash
A 72-year-old woman was killed in a Southeast Texas car wash after an unsecured vehicle that was being cleaned ran her over.
The Houston Chronicle reports that Juana Gonzalez and her family were waiting for their truck at the car wash in Conroe on Saturday when an attendant accidentally put the vehicle in drive instead of neutral just before placing it on an automated car wash track.
Conroe police say the vehicle sped through the car wash and ended up crashing into Gonzalez, who was about 50 feet away.
Gonzalez died at the scene. No other injuries were reported by police.
Conroe is located about 40 miles north of Houston.
