Dallas Police Suspect Tree Fell on Man
Dallas police say the body of a man reported missing several weeks ago has been found in a creek bed and he may have been killed by a falling tree.
Construction workers on Wednesday discovered the body of 36-year-old Vashana Eugene Mims. Officials say tree branches obscured the body.
A police report says Mims and a friend planned to play basketball at a recreation center but then Mims never went inside. The report says Mims in the evening called a woman to ask about his children and say he was heading home. He was reported missing Feb. 5.
The recreation center is near where the body was located.
Medical examiners have classified the death as unexplained pending a formal ruling.
