Wildfire Contained in Central Texas
Authorities say a wildfire that started from a campfire burned about 130 acres in Central Texas before being contained.
The fire in Iron Bridge Park in Bell County spread into Coryell County before flames were fully contained Tuesday morning. The fire at one point had threatened five homes.
Texas Forest Service spokeswoman Mary Kay Hicks says wind gusts remain a concern as firefighters continue to knock down hotspots.
The fire started Sunday at a campsite and Hicks says firefighters initially had difficulty reaching the area because of rugged terrain. There were no injuries reported.
The location is about 35 miles southwest of Waco.
