Fire Damages San Antonio TV Station Building
Investigators say a fire that knocked a Texas television station off the air during its morning newscast does not appear to be suspicious.
Authorities are trying to determine what sparked the fire around 5 a.m. Tuesday at WOAI-TV. Nobody was hurt.
General manager John Seabers says the building was evacuated and the fire was contained to second-floor offices. Seabers says the NBC affiliate was expected to return to the air later Tuesday.
San Antonio Fire Department spokesman Christian Bove (BOHV) had no immediate damage estimate but says the building suffered smoke and water damage. He says the investigation continues but the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
