New Orleans Man Gets 5 Years in Prison for Arson
A New Orleans man has been sentenced to five years in prison for his role in setting two separate fires at the same convenience store in 2010.
Twenty-three-year-old Lennie Brown pleaded guilty in 2011 to arson charges. U.S. District Judge Susie Morgan sentenced him on Wednesday.
Federal prosecutors say another man, Larry Moses, paid Brown $1,500 to start a fire inside a Fuel Zone store in New Orleans in June 2010. Later that month, Brown returned to the store with a third man who allegedly set another fire before a store clerk shot and wounded him.
Damage from the second fire closed the store for more than a month.
Moses also pleaded guilty in the case and is scheduled to be sentenced May 22.
