Texas Mutual to Host AASCIF Annual Conference
Texas Mutual Insurance Company will host the American Association of State Compensation Insurance Funds (AASCIF) Annual Conference. The 2013 AASCIF Annual Conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Austin, Texas, from July 14 – 17. Registration is now open. The conference will feature a variety of speakers and activities for attendees and their guests. Speakers include:
- Lee Cockerell – Cockerell held various executive positions in the hospitality and entertainment business with Hilton Hotels for eight years and the Marriott Corporation for 17 years before joining Disney in 1990 to open the Disneyland Paris project. One of Lee’s major and lasting legacies was the creation of “Disney Great Leader Strategies,” the primary resource for developing the 7,000 leaders at Walt Disney World.
- Erik Qualman – Often called the Digital Dale Carnegie, Qualman is the author of “Socialnomics: How social media transforms the way we live and do business.” Socialnomics made Amazon’s No. 1 best sellers list for the U.S., U.K., Canada and Germany.
- Thom Singer – Singer is an expert in social networking and developing a personal brand. He has worked in sales and marketing capacities at several Fortune 100 companies and regularly speaks to corporate audiences, law firms and professional organizations.
- Joe Navarro – Navarro has been studying non-verbal behavior for the past 45 years. He spent 25 of those years in the FBI catching spies. Today, Navarro is an internationally recognized expert, consultant, author and gifted lecturer on the interpretation of non-verbal behavior.
Joe Paduda of Health Strategy Associates, Texas Mutual medical director Dr. Nick Tsourmas and others will also present on issues relevant to today’s workers’ compensation environment.
In addition to the conference sessions, a variety of additional activities are planned, including a performance by nine-time Grammy Award winners Asleep at the Wheel, an opening reception at Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium and a closing gala at the Moody Theater, home of the “Austin City Limits” television show.
