Louisiana DEQ Issues Hurricane Response Manual to Parishes
The Department of Environmental Quality is giving parishes a hurricane resources manual that outlines how to deal with debris collection and environmental cleanup after a storm.
DEQ says this is the second year the department has compiled the manual, which is hand-delivered to parish emergency response officials throughout Louisiana.
The guide has information designed to help local officials follow environmental regulations without slowing down storm recovery needs.
The department says the booklet includes details of pre-approved debris sites, information about how to add a debris collection site, emergency declaration examples, a list of sanitary waste water treatment facilities and a DEQ contacts list.
The information also is available online at www.deq.louisiana.gov.
