Crews Work to Fix 15-Foot-Wide Houston Sinkhole
Road crews have been working to cover a 15-foot-wide sinkhole on a Houston, Texas, street.
People living nearby called public workers officials Tuesday when the sinkhole began to open as vehicles drove over the spot. Traffic has been diverted.
Neighbor Netsey Preston raised concerns that a vehicle could hit the spot and flip.
Officials are checking whether a water main leak caused the street to give way. Crews planned to fit a steel plate over the hole.
