Cannon Named Medical Director of Oklahoma Workers’ Comp Commission
A former hospital chief of staff has been named medical director of the Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Commission.
Dr. Jay Cannon of Oklahoma City will be working with administrative law judges on independent medical examinations and vocational rehabilitation orders. He will also be assisting commission staff with medical questions and concerns from individuals filing claims.
Cannon has more than 40 years of experience in the medical field, including medical director and associate chief of staff for the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and chief of staff of the Oklahoma City Veterans Administration Hospital. He was also chief of staff at Integris Baptist Medical Center.
In addition, he served as a clinical professor for the OU Health Sciences Center.
Cannon’s appointment was announced on Friday. The commission began operating Feb. 1.
