High Fire Risk on Friday, Freezing Rain by Weekend in Oklahoma
The National Weather Service says Oklahoma will likely see a roller coaster of temperatures over the next few days, with warm weather and a high fire risk Friday followed by the possibility of wintry weather during the weekend.
Forecasters say Oklahoma will see high temperatures Friday in the 60s and 70s with breezy and dry weather creating dangerous wildfire conditions in parts of the state. But on Saturday night, a strong storm system will enter the state, bringing the possibility of freezing rain.
The weather service says freezing rain could develop in portions of central and northeast Oklahoma near the Interstate 44 corridor before moving out of the state Sunday. Sleet and possibly snow are possible throughout the day Sunday.
