Oklahoma AG Secures $42,158 Restitution for Home Repair Fraud
After a four-year pursuit, the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office says it has secured $42,158 in restitution from a Texas man for Oklahoma victims of home repair fraud.
The office said Thursday that Randy Leroy Madewell of Danbury, Texas, was charged in 2010 with four felony counts of home repair fraud. Prosecutors say Madewell accepted more than $42,000 from seven homeowners for home repair and roofing work, but never started the projects. The projects were in Midwest City, Edmond and Oklahoma City.
Madewell fled the state – but was returned last week after police in Indiana arrested him on an unrelated issue and noticed the arrest warrant out of Oklahoma County.
Online court records show Madewell pleaded guilty to the fraud charges in exchange for five years of probation.
