University of New Orleans to Use Grant for Cybersecurity Lab
A University of New Orleans faculty member has been awarded a $300,000 grant to set up a cybersecurity lab.
Computer science professor Vassil Roussev received the 2-year grant by the National Science Foundation.
The university plans to establish a self-contained cybersecurity lab. Students will install special software on their laptops enabling them to download different scenarios and try to solve simulated cybersecurity problems.
UNO is designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education and Research by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
