3 Workers Injured in Oklahoma Cell Phone Tower Incident
Authorities say three people were injured while performing maintenance on a cell phone tower in Norman.
Norman Deputy Fire Chief Jim Bailey says one of the workers apparently passed out while working on the tower. Bailey says the worker was nearly 120 feet in the air at the time, so another worker on the tower tethered himself to the man so they could descend.
Bailey says both men struck the tower in the rapid descent and were injured. They were taken to OU Medical Center, while a third worker was also hurt and taken to Norman Regional Hospital.
Officials aren’t yet sure why the first worker lost consciousness on the tower.
