Arkansas Town Rerouted Parade After Roof Collapse
Pine Bluff, Ark., police have rerouted an upcoming parade because of a partial roof collapse that happened earlier this summer.
The Southeast Arkansas District Livestock and Rodeo Parade was rerouted after the partial collapse of the former Sahara Temple on Main Street. Police say the parade, which is set for Oct. 2, will now go down Fifth Street instead of Main Street.
Pine Bluff Police Sgt. David DeFoor says the parade was rerouted because the former temple is still considered dangerous. He tells Little Rock television station KATV that debris could still fall at any time from the site.
Thousands of spectators are expected at this year’s parade.
