Tornado-Damaged Arkansas Trail Reopens
Arkansas authorities have reopened a portion of the Ouachita National Recreation Trail that was closed due to tornado damage.
Central Arkansas Water on Tuesday announced the easternmost portion of the 192-mile hiking and biking trail has been cleared of debris and is open to the public. The portion of the trail was closed after an EF4 tornado hit Faulkner County on April 27. About 137 acres of forest on the north shore of Lake Maumelle was damaged.
The Friends of the Ouachita Trail organization helped clear debris from the trail in October.
