Texas Insurance Trade Group’s Video Aimed at Student Recruitment

January 7, 2015

The Insurance Council of Texas (ICT) has produced a six-minute video highlighting the variety of job opportunities available in the insurance industry for recent college graduates and current undergrads.

The video (http://youtu.be/2y1Qo9X8jt0) will be distributed to a large number of college and universities across the state as well as college recruiters for every major property and casualty insurance company doing business in Texas.

“We are reaching out to college students to let them know that there is no better time than now to be looking at an insurance career. The opportunities in insurance include a variety of skills,” said Mark Hanna, ICT’s public relations and membership manager who wrote and produced the video.

More than a dozen students, recent insurance/risk management graduates and college recruiters are featured in the video that explains the tremendous opportunities that are available in the insurance industry.

The video also includes representatives from many of the state’s leading insurers and features recent graduates who received scholarships from the ICT Education Foundation while in school.

The ICT Education Foundation has provided over $750,000 in scholarships and academic awards to Texas students.

Hanna said ICT also produced a condensed two-minute version of the student recruitment video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2X2pOlxeU8) that can be used by universities and recruiters.

The video is the result of a collaboration between the ICT Education Foundation and university professors to find ways to increase student awareness of opportunities in the insurance and risk management field. Funding was provided by a grant from State Farm Insurance.
