Texas Gun Training Site Re-Enacts France Terror Attack
A Texas firearms training site has re-enacted this month’s attack on a French satirical newspaper to see if an armed employee would have made a difference in preventing the deaths of 12 people.
About 30 volunteers gathered Tuesday at the Patriot Protection facility in Plano to participate in the exercise. Volunteers sat in makeshift offices while one person armed with a nonlethal pistol tried to defend them from two masked men barging inside.
The facility’s owner tells The Dallas Morning News that he and other event organizers were sensitive to the fact the Paris attack on Charlie Hebdo had changed the lives of many.
A Patriot Protection official says the scenario was designed to collect data if a gun would have saved lives.
